I volunteered for the offsite event at the Pittsburgh Home and Gardens Show this past Saturday from 2-6pm. The dog I was in charge of handling was Buckles, an 11 month old Pitbull girl. She was a pleasure. She was intrigued by all the sights and sounds, especially the stuffed animals. Buckles loved the chance to meet lots of new people and gave kisses to pretty much all the kids around. At one point she took a nap, and also spent time resting on my lap. A passerby commented that she was too big to be a lap dog. “Don’t tell her that!” I said. The other dog who was present during that time was Bubba, an adorable Manchester terrier. Bubba rode on my lap on the way back to the shelter, and sat like a little boy with his legs out in front of him looking out the window. I saw Kaiser for the shift following.
